Nutmeg (1986 - August 29, 2017) was a tabby domestic cat, owned by Liz Finlay and Ian Finlay. He is one of the oldest living cats who died at age 31, approximately 144 cat years. He was the oldest living cat until his death in 2017. He was born in late 1986. Despite his long life Nutmeg did not qualify for Guinness World Records, due to his owners lacking documents to prove his age, which were difficult to get as Nutmeg was adopted after being found in Liz's and Ian's garden in 1990. His owner Ian Finlay said "He was not our cat, we were his humans and he never lets us forget that. I think that was the secret to his long life." Also, according to his owners, he would eat tuna, cream, turkey and hot roast chicken with gravy.
