Pablo Kuri-Morales (born November 10, 1961, Mexico City) earned his medical degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). He holds a master's degree in Science and specialized in Public Health certified by the Specialty Council (Consejo de la Especialidad). Kuri-Morales is member of the National Academy of Medicine of Mexico, the Mexican Surgery Academy and the Mexican Public Health Society. He is recognized as one of the world health experts in emergencies, security and pandemics. In 2009, he collaborated in the response against influenza AH1N1 pandemic and has led the Mexican response to threats as anthrax, influenza, Ebola, SARS among others. He has been part of more than 20 health fieldwork missions and as head of the health response to natural disasters such as hurricanes “Paulina”, “Ingrid”, “Manuel” and “Odile” since 1997.
