Peggy Phelan (born June 12, 1948), is an American feminist scholar, one of the founders of Performance Studies International, and was chair of New York University's Department of Performance Studies from 1993 to 1996. She is also the author of Unmarked (1993), Mourning Sex (1997) and Art and Feminism (2001).
