Randy Leonard Shannon (born February 24, 1966) is an American football coach and former player who is currently the defensive coordinator at the University of Central Florida (UCF). Previously, Shannon was the head football coach at the University of Miami from 2007 to 2010, and has served as an assistant coach or defensive coordinator for the National Football League's Miami Dolphins and for several college teams, including at Miami, where he won the Frank Broyles Award as the nation's top collegiate assistant coach in 2001. Before UCF, Shannon served as assistant head coach and defensive coordinator for the University of Florida Gators and was the Gators' interim head coach for the last four games of the 2017 season.
