Martin Joseph Walsh (born April 10, 1967) is a politician from Boston, Massachusetts. A Democrat, he has served as the 54th mayor of Boston since 2014. He was previously a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, serving in that office from 1997 until 2014 and representing the Thirteenth Suffolk district. On January 7, 2021, it was announced that U.S. President Joe Biden selected Walsh to serve as the United States Secretary of Labor in the Biden administration.
