Doyle Samuel Dotson III was selected 34th Police Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Department, City of St. Louis on December 14, 2012, after 18 years in the department. Dotson manages the second largest police department in the state of Missouri and is responsible for the Department's budget, which translates to $173 million annually. He oversees 1,319 sworn officers and 548 civilian employees. As Police Commissioner of the second-largest city in the state, he is responsible for the public safety of 319,294 residents who live in the City of St. Louis.
