Rashid Mortey (born October 1987) popularly known by his stage name Scata Bada, is a reggae/dancehall artiste and a song writer. He started his musical career as a rapper in a duo but had to go solo for personal reasons. He's much noted for integrating positive and socially conscious subject matter into his music, drawing inspiration from personal experiences, peer testimonies, issues of public concern and Rastafari teachings. Jah cure, Garnett Silk, Morgan Heritage just to mention a few are artistes Scata looks up to. Scata Bada grew up in a home where the idea of being a musician wasn’t embraced so he had to find a way to nurture his passion hence falling on the streets of Ashaiman a suburb of Accra, Ghana. In 2014, an independent record label (Lyfstyl Entertainment) showed up and expressed interest in him and soon started working. Under this new management, Scata Bada recorded a couple of songs which included his major hit single featuring BET award winner, Sarkodie titled "Style it" In the middle of the year 2016, Scata Bada became an independent artiste and started pinioning his own clique, Baddest Empire. The "Baddest Empire" constitute the fan base of Scata Bada. Scata Bada is currently under the management of Abbey Music Records. His hard work and dedication throughout his musical journey got him nominated for the Discovery of the year category of the Bass Awards 2016 held on 25th December at the National Theater (Ghana).
