Steven Pankow (29 March 1908– 25 July 1993) was Mayor of the City of Buffalo, New York, serving 1954–1957. He was born in Buffalo on March 29, 1908. He grew up in Freyfield-Wolnepole, Poland of Ukrainian heritage, until around 1922, when he returned to Buffalo to live with an aunt. He married Mary Conwall (1912-2002, born Konowalczuk) in 1930. He worked at the Bethlehem Steel plant in Lackawanna, New York and in the 1930s, opened his own automobile agency; a Dodge-Plymouth franchise, known as Pankow Motors.
