Sylvana Foa (born January 31, 1945, Buffalo, New York) is a former foreign correspondent and public affairs specialist who shattered glass ceilings within the media and the United Nations. She was the first woman to serve as foreign editor of a major international news organization, the first woman news director of an American television network and the first woman to serve as spokesman for the Secretary General of the United Nations.
