Walter Washington Green Williams (November 14, 1854 – December 19, 1959) was an American man who said that he fought as a Confederate soldier and was claimed by some to be the last surviving veteran of the American Civil War. The claim is controversial, however. Although he said that he was born in 1842, census records indicated that he was still a child when the war ended in 1865.
