Wayne Wilson Hicks (born April 9, 1937 in Aberdeen, Washington and raised in Kelowna, British Columbia) is a retired American-born Canadian professional ice hockey right winger who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Chicago Black Hawks, Boston Bruins, Montreal Canadiens, Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers. He played one game for Chicago in the 1961 Stanley Cup Finals, helping them win the Stanley Cup. He was the first American-born player to play on the Philadelphia Flyers and was part of the Flyers starting six for the opening shift against the California Seals in the first game in Flyers' franchise history (Oct. 11, 1967). Wayne scored the first goal at the redone Madison Square Gardens for the Flyers at 12:12 of the first period versus the Rangers on Feb. 18, 1968).
