His Lordship, Most Revd William Amove Avenya (born 21 June 1955) from Konshisha Local Government Area of Benue State is the Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Gboko in the Ecclesiastical province of Abuja in Nigeria. Avenya is the first Bishop of the diocese since its creation on 29 December 2012. He previously served as the Titular Bishop of Thucca in Mauretania and Auxiliary Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Makurdi before his installation as the Bishop of Gboko Diocese. He also serves as Secretary of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Nigeria (CBCN).
