Zakarias Martin Toftezen (1821-13 August 1901) was the first Norwegian settler in the Puget Sound and Washington. He arrived on Whidbey Island in Washington state after sailing from Norway in 1849 and settled present day Oak Harbor, Washington. He was buried in Our Saviour’s Lutheran Cemetery with a monument in 1939.
