Mohammad Abdul Hamid (born 1 January 1944) is the current President of Bangladesh. He was elected to his first term in April 2013, and re-elected to his current second term in 2018. Previously he served as the Speaker of the National Parliament from January 2009 to April 2013. He was the acting President after the death of Zillur Rahman in March 2013, and he was elected as president on 22 April 2013.
