Tajuddin Ahmad (Bengali: তাজউদ্দীন আহমদ; 23 July 1925 – 3 November 1975) was a Bengali statesman and freedom fighter. He is popularly dubbed with the title of "Bangataj" (Bôngotaj "Crown of Bengal") by the people of Bangladesh. He led the Provisional Government of Bangladesh as its Prime Minister during the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971, for which he is regarded as one of the most instrumental figures in the birth of Bangladesh.
