Jacob Brown (July 19, 1789 – May 9, 1846) was an American army officer who was killed leading American forces at the Siege of Fort Texas in the Mexican–American War near Brownsville, Texas, a city that was named after him. Born in Massachusetts, Brown was mortally wounded on May 6, 1846. He died three days later.
