James Earl Mayo (born March 30, 1957), is the former mayor of Monroe, the seat of Ouachita Parish in northeastern Louisiana, United States. First appointed as interim mayor, he won a special election to become mayor in 2001, and was then re-elected to four full terms, becoming the longest-serving mayor of Monroe, surpassing the mark previously held by William Lorenzo Howard.
